Angels Among Us

We were meeting in a quaint little town for lunch. My friends had arrived from south Florida. I decided to scoot up early to rummage through a consignment shop with hopes of finding a pair of white capri pants. I had been very successful in this shop before, so my expectations were high. A rack was outside the store holding capri pants. Wah lah! I carefully looked at every pair of white pants on the rack and none suited me, nor were any of them my size.

Inside the store and greeted by the owner (she sure did remember me), I inquired about white capri pants. She asked if I had checked the rack outside, as that was “it” for capris. Cast down, but not destroyed, I quickly gleaned through the store. I requested a phone call should any show up, and with a nod of acknowledgement, I headed for the restaurant.

Passing by the rack, I noticed a white pair of pants sticking out from among the rest, and opted for a closer view. These were quite nice and golly gee, my size. They were not here a few minutes earlier. Amazing!! No tag either. This is strange, but let’s give them a try. Back inside the store I asked the owner for a price as there was no tag. “No tag?”, now we’re both amazed. She seemed confused, but glibly pulled a price out of the air, which made my ears happy; now if they will just fit. I was shocked! Fit me like a glove and had every feature I was hoping for. I decided to wear them. We made our exchange and this time I really headed for the restaurant ~ grinning all the way. Life is Good!!

A couple of weeks later, I called my friend who owns a garage. My car needed an oil change. She sounded “under the weather,” and informed me that she did not intend to stay as she was ill. “I’m coming and bringing my oil, I’ll be there in a few minutes.” “O.K., I’ll wait for you.” Arriving, and she looked the part. I had a tiny bottle of oil which I retrieved from my pocket. Anointed her forehead and prayed, commanded the fever to leave, rebuked all viruses and sicknesses in the powerful Name of Jesus, and we both said Amen!! She looked no different, nor did she feel different. In about 20 minutes, she started feeling better and ended up staying all day without sickness on her. My car got an oil change and I headed home.

Upon arrival, I went to the bedroom to change clothes and reached into my pocket for the small bottle of oil. It was not there. I didn’t think I had placed it in my purse, because it was too small, however I checked, to no avail. Oh well, it’s probably still on the counter at the shop. They’ll find it and return it I’m sure. Not to worry! I hated the thought of losing my little bottle of oil because it came from Israel. Just a sentimental thing.

Several days later I went into my computer room to check out my calendar, and there it was. That tiny bottle of oil sitting on the very edge of my desk. Kind of reminded me of that insurance commercial where stacks of dollar bills are staring back at you. Amazed!! I know I didn’t put it there. I didn’t even come into the computer room, and I certainly would not have placed such a small bottle just anywhere. That’s why I carried it in my pocket, to keep from losing it.

After the oil showed up, I got to thinking about my pants. Everything surrounding both events was strange, or rather “not natural.” Pants mysteriously showing up, extending out to catch my eye, my size, perfect fit, no tag, “Hello down there little earthling.” It just reminded me that Angels are real and do supernatural things. God pays attention to the littlest things that concern us. I faintly remember praying about the capris, but I did not petition Him about the oil. I do, however, live with an attitude of expectancy.

He knows our heart and our thoughts are ever before Him. Personally, I believe it is time to start seeing lots of supernatural things happen in the earth. Angels are on assignment to help complete God’s plan for man. These are just tidbits of what is to come. It is just God’s way of showing us He can do exceeding abundantly above what we dare ask or THINK.

Hebrews: 12:22 But ye are come unto Mount Zion, and unto the City of the Living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of Angels. Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have entertained Angels unawares. Psalm 103: 20 Bless the Lord, ye his Angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, harkening unto the voice of his word.

It’s wonderful to be under the Umbrella of Blessings and have the deck stacked in our favor. It’s even more wonderful to abide in Him and watch Him do His Supernatural Stuff!! Living in the Supernatural while still in this natural world is almost like cheating, but I’ll take it!!

St. John 15:4 – 7 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches; He that abides in me and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you.

It’s not our fault that He’s nuts about us to the point of stacking the deck, and He has a sleeve full of aces!!! It is a splendid thought to realize that it is not our imagination. Someone is out there and He really cares.

Psalms 91:9-11 Because thou has made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High thy habitation. There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh they dwelling. For He shall give His Angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Watch Out, They’re Watching

Today while sharing with some friends about the power of prayer, I remembered an incident that happened nearly 20 years ago that was relative. One in our group said he was not comfortable praying “off the cuff” and certainly not as bold as the other two at the table ~ one being me and the other his wife. I shared with him that he was not responsible for answering the prayer, only instrumental in the process. We can’t do God’s job and He won’t do ours.

Backtracking nearly two decades, I was arriving at work and as I walked past my boss’s office, I noticed that she was on the phone and crying. I made it to my office and headed for the coffee pot. I asked someone what was the problem with Ann, and they told me her beloved poodle was sick and the vets offered her no help and they think the dog will die. She was concerned about her dog and it grieved me. God told me to pray for Ann’s poodle. No problem!! I headed for the bathroom and prayed for the dog. Rebuked all doggie sicknesses and commanded the poodle to rebound immediately and live a happy, tail waggin’ doggie life in JESUS‘ NAME.

Headed back toward my office when God told me to go tell Ann that I had prayed for her dog and that the dog would be just fine. I told God that if I had known that, I would not have prayed for the dog in the first place. God was silent. I hate it when He does not talk to me. Neither does He change His Mind. I made a cup of coffee and took it to Ann. As she acknowledged me and the coffee, I told her that I had prayed for her poodle and the doggie would recover and be just fine. She slowly hung up the phone and looked at me with tremendous relief in her expression as she said “thank you.” I said, “you’re welcome.” That evening her poodle went home and was just fine. No one understood the improvement nor cared. Ann was relieved and I was thrilled.

Several months later, everyone had gone home but me, and I was just tidying up my desk (ordinarily, I would have been gone too). I heard her steps coming down the hall. They kept getting closer and clearer. Ann appeared in front of my desk and said, “ I have a presentation to give before the City Commission tomorrow morning and nothing is working out for me and I can‘t even get the projector to work right.” With that she turned on her heels and exited my office. I’m thinking what’s that got to do with me? Then it dawned on me, she wanted me to pray. I smiled when I thought about it.

I prayed for her presentation to come together perfectly, and for it to be easily understood, accepted and approved. No technical complications either. The next day, I asked where’s Ann. “She has a presentation before the City Commission this morning.” Oh Yeah! I could hardly wait to hear how things went. Didn’t see her until after lunch. “Ann, how did things go with your presentation?” “Surprisingly well, really came together; may be the best I’ve ever done.” Big grin on her face, relief and assurance in her heart. How cool! Be Bold! Step up to the pump. Do your part and God certainly will do His. He wants to help people. Don’t be concerned about what people think. Just do what you know God wants you to do. Don’t look now, but people are watching us, and rightfully so, we have the answers, and His Name is JESUS, the Son of the Living God!!

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

Thy Will Be Done

Have you ever noticed while reading through the Bible, that much of it reads like a legal document? The first five books of the Old Testament are even called the Law. After the death of Moses, another book was written called Judges. The Bible uses such words as petition, false balance, just weight, rightly dividing, justify or condemn, acquitted, defend, righteous judgment, reprove, lawful, delivers from death, everlasting covenant, counselor, mediator, mercy and God is judge over all the earth.

These are just a few, but enough to get me thinking about the High Courts of Heaven. We have rights when accused. Just as a lawyer would research the law, we must research the law of God and discover what belongs to us because of the Shed Blood of Jesus, our Mediator. What happened between the Cross and the Throne is more than significant. He made a way for our Victory. Thank you JESUS for the Cross at Calvary. He legally striped the devil of all authority. I Corinthians 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew; for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory!!! Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

Since there are always consequences to actions, repentance may be the 1st Article that needs to be presented to Our Righteous Judge. Once right relationship is restored, He can legally take over and fights our battles. He always has our best interest in mind. Even the word, Testament, Old or New, means the same thing as Law or Will. The Last Will and Testament of Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ is definitely a legal document. JESUS is the only person who has ever died and rose again to make sure His Will is properly carried out.

All Rise!! There is always respect and honor in the court system because justice hangs in the balance. We have a dress code, time frame and rules. Our actions are judged in that environment.
Honor and Respect for the Judge of all the earth grants us tremendous FAVOR with the Court System of Heaven. God is standing ready and watching over His Word to perform them on our behalf. We have a legal right to stand before the Creator of the Universe, Judge over all the Earth and watch Him rule in our favor and change whatever needs to be changed for our benefit. Isaiah 33:22  For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our King; he will save us.

Prayer is a Petition. When based on the Word of God, the Judge can and will perform it. Matthew 21: 21, 22 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

There’s no way to get around it, we must have and use our Faith. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 10:35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which has great recompense of reward. This gives a deeper dimension to the Lords Prayer. Thy Will Be Done in earth as it is in the High Courts of Heaven.
