Don’t Deceive Yourself
While meditating on God’s Goodness, I couldn’t help but wonder why some Christians are not receiving God’s Goodness in their lives. It certainly cannot be God’s fault, because He is no respecter of persons. I was reading Matthew 25:1-13 about the 10 virgins, 5 were wise and 5 were foolish.
Some Christians make foolish decisions and expect the wise Christians to run to their rescue. They expect God to “wink” at sin and understand. Not so with God and not so in the heavenly realm in which we live. People make decisions and there are consequences to every decision. So, I believe the obvious reason is because people make decisions that bring a curse on them, and still want to live under the umbrella of Blessings. Impossible!!
The Spirit of Repentance should be the first response to a turn around if we find ourselves in this hard place. The Bible says if we are His sheep, we hear His Voice. He is talking all the time, but are we listening. We must be still and know that He is God, Isaiah 30:15.
If we are looking to people for our deliverance, we are setting ourselves up for disappointment. God is our Deliverer. He is where our help comes from. God uses people, but people are not the answer; they are only vessels where God’s Grace has been deposited to help in a particular situation.
We all have to learn that God Rules and what He says is true and He changes not. He is eager to help everyone who calls on His name in Faith. Sometimes, I think God stands by with his hands tied because people are rebellious, prideful and want to do it their way. Lets just admit it, repent it and quit it. God wants very much to help, deliver, set free, and provide direction and peace. We must do it His Way. He is Righteous and His way is always Right. Just reading and believing the Book of Proverbs will help keep us out of the ditch.
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 3: 1,2 My son, forget not my law; but let your heart keep my commandments; for length of days and long life and peace shall they add to thee. Proverbs 4:4b Let your heart retain my words; keep my commandments and live. Proverbs 13:20 He that walks with wise men shall be wise, but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.
1 John 3:19-22 And hereby we know that we are of the Truth and shall assure our hearts before HIM, for if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart and nothing is hidden from His sight. Beloved, if our consciences (hearts) do not accuse us, if they do not make us feel gulty and condemn us, we have confidence, complete assurance and boldness before God; and we receive from Him whatever we ask for because we obey His orders ~ observe His suggestions and injunctions, follow His plan for us, and practice what is pleasing to HIM.
Be honest with yourself. God already knows. Tell yourself the truth!!!
