Living in Light
Often we are around people who obviously need light on a subject. Sometimes, however, it is not OUR TIME to teach, even though we definitely could help them. Recently, I found myself in that very situation. Grieved? You bet!! I immediately recognized the present situation for what it was and cast my care on the LORD, who loves me severely. I reminded myself that at least “I am light right here in the midst of darkness.”
Later that evening, my thoughts lingered around the days activity. When it seems we are helpless to help, we can always pray and God can open a door. Intersession was the key to that help. I recalled that I was once lost and undone and on my way to a devil’s hell, BUT GOD!!! Intersession is like giving God an easement to trample on people’s lives; standing in the gap between the people and doom. I found myself crying out, and I mean crying out in the night watches for GOD’S MERCY to prevail, and IT SHALL BE SO.
People are walking around like a horse with blinders on. II Corinthians 4:1-4 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; but have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Remember the woman who was caught in the act of adultery? Jesus did not point out her sin. She was quite aware of her sin. He said, John 8:10 Woman, where are those thine accusers? Hath no man condemned thee? And she said No man Lord, and Jesus said unto her Neither do I condemn thee, go and sin no more. Then spake Jesus again to them saying. “I am the light of the world, he that follows me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life.”
Do you realize that the spirit in other people recognizes the Spirit in you? That phrase, commending ourselves to every man’s conscience should prod us. Not to point a finger, but to realize that what’s inside of them is watching what’s inside of us. What’s inside will act out. God gave everyone a conscience. We can mingle with darkness and shine. We are not called to walk as those in darkness walk. The 5th Chapter of Ephesians makes that truth perfectly clear. Ephesians 5: 7,8: Be not ye therefore partakes with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.
Before the day was over, one party-er started talking about the power of our words. I said, “where did you learn that?, not in college, I’m sure.” He said, “No!, I’ve been reading the Bible.” His spirit not only recognized my Spirit, but felt safe to speak out. Glory to God! Live as Light in a dark world. They want what we have. Having a personal relationship with the author of the Bible entitles us to rich royalties. We can spread the wealth and advance the Kingdom. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before man, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
